Just saw the newly restored "Mamele&quo...Ken, <br />Just saw the newly restored "Mamele" at the DCJCC as part of the DC Jewish Film Festival. New subtitles in English and much more detailed and pleasing to the eye. Lisa Rivo of the National Center for Jewish Film in Boston presented the film and described the restoration work performed by the Center. <br /><br />Molly Picon was wonderful. Your post filled in a lot of gaps for me. It's also interesting to note that my Carole's uncle was Joseph Green, director of "Mamele,", "Yidl mitn Fidl" and many other Yiddish films.
