Yes, the two alleged allies of Messrs. Hunt, Hunt, and Hunt referred to in the Blog were none other than Naji Robert Nahas of Brazil and Banque Populaire Suisse. In fact, Banque Populaire Suisse's initial refusal to disclose who was behind their secret 1980 silver account sparked one of the great contests over financial transparency. Tom, please send me your e-mail address via Ken@viralhistory.com and we can arrange that bottle of time. All best. --KAKen Ackermanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16348967274722508119noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4316486182743991911.post-69778381200523030732011-04-27T18:07:50.487-04:002011-04-27T18:07:50.487-04:00Banque Populaire Suisse I think is what you are lo...Banque Populaire Suisse I think is what you are looking for. It was a Subcommittee hearing (Conservation and Credit) and before the hearing Subcommittee Chairman Ed Jones asked if I would let the Hunt Brothers wait for their testimony in my office. I did and had a nice visit with them. I had an uncle who worked for them in East Texas (Hunt Oil). The next year I became a CFTC Commissioner and we eventually took action against them. fowlerKen Ackermanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16348967274722508119noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4316486182743991911.post-4371472567833318552011-04-26T15:43:05.152-04:002011-04-26T15:43:05.152-04:00I also guess Nahas and for the bank, I read that 5...I also guess Nahas and for the bank, I read that 5 of the 6 vaults they used to stash the silver boullions were at Credit Suisse's Zurich branch. They also had an account at the Swiss Bank's New York branch.keisha s.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4316486182743991911.post-63279676924695184982011-04-26T14:33:09.313-04:002011-04-26T14:33:09.313-04:00I thought the primary allies of the Hunt brothers ...I thought the primary allies of the Hunt brothers were, ironically enough, front men for the current King of Saudi Arabia (2nd in line to the thrown and head of internal security at the time): Naji Robert Nahas, who was based in Brazil I guess, Khalid Mafouz, and Gaith Pharaon. Their broker was Narton Waltuch at Conti Commodity Services, which I thought was based in Belgium.

(This is ironic because one of Texas oil's main problems for a long period was that it was more expensive than Middle Eastern oil. Thus, after the collapse of oil prices in the early-mid 80s all those oil barons couldn't make their margin calls.)Tom Corcorannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4316486182743991911.post-12361925398004875292011-04-26T14:30:01.107-04:002011-04-26T14:30:01.107-04:00Could it be Naji Robert Nahas and Swiss Bank?Could it be Naji Robert Nahas and Swiss Bank?Roger Szemrajnoreply@blogger.com
